I. The Website

The table below is a brief summary of the features of the website. Click on each features for more information.

I - i. Buy

> To search items,
i) simply type keywords in the search box located on the Index page and click "search" or
ii) type keywords and select anything from the select boxes located in Buy page and hit "Search".

> Or you may browse the website by
i) leaving the search box empty and hit "search"
ii) select any categories from the select boxes on Buy page, hit "Search."

> Steps to buy items at magician's market:
1) you need to sign-up for a membership, which is FREE with no obligations (see different Membership Types);
2) look for what you want; you may search specific items using search box or browse around the website;
3) once you find an item that you want, read item description, seller policies carefully. Also, check seller's rating;
4) ask seller any question if you have any;
5) click "buy" - you will be taken to Confirmation page but your purchase not confirmed yet.
6) click "Send Order" in confirmation page after you check the quantity and the total price.
7) payment to the seller - sellers will accept one or more of the following:
          i) Paypal / Credit Card
         ii) Personal Check
        iii) Money Order
     *please check your payment options before you purchase anything.

> Safety tips when you buy an item:
   1. Read the item description & condition carefully. Make sure that they are exactly what you expect.
   2. Check the Payment, Shipping and Return Policies that the seller provides.
   3. Ask questions to the seller if you are not clear about anything.
   4. Do not purchase if you feel anything suspicious about the seller.
   5. If you see any illegal items, please do not purchase them but report to us!

I - ii. Sell

> To sell an item,
          1. Find / make what you can/want to sell.   -> what can I sell?
          2. Find out which membership type best suits your need   -> Membership Types
          3. Become a member   -> register
              and upgrade your membership -> upgrade
          4. List item(s)   -> how?
          5. Read "Cautions when you sell"

> Things that you can sell are, such as your old props, props that you bought but that you did not like/use, old Magic magazines, DVDs, Books, and so on. You can also sell your creations, including props, tricks that you invented, music that you composed for magic shows, and so on. As you see, you can sell lots of things but be sure not to sell anything illegal. We will NOT be responsible for what you sell and any copy right issues.

> Steps to list your item:
   1. Go to "Sell" page, and log in if you have not logged in.   (not member yet?)
   2. Enter coupon code if you have one.
   3. Select your product category and information. Then click Continue.
   4. Enter your product title, description, picture (if any), and add additional features.
   5. Enter your price, enter your payment, shipping and return policy.
   6. Check all the information you entered, edit if you need to, then click Submit. (Don't forget your coupon!)
   7. Make payments if necessary.

> Cautions and tips for selling:
   1. Write the description and condition of the item carefully so that it accurate.
   2. Answer any questions from buyers promptly.
   3. We would suggest receiving payment before you ship anything.
   4. Send your item promptly. If you cannot send the item for any reason, contact the buyer and an issue refund.

I - iii. My Account

To access My Account, click "Log-in" or "My Account." When you are in log-in page, enter your ID and password.
In My Account, you can do following things:
   1. change your personal information
   2. change your password
   3. keep track of your listed items
   4. view your purchase / payment history
   5. edit your ad.
   6. view One-Magic-A-Day
   7. enter Secret Library

1. Change your personal information:
The information here is very important because this is what will be shared when you are in business transaction:
1) the item you purchased will be shipped to the address here (unless if you make a special arrangement directly with the seller).
2) when buyer chooses to pay you by check or money order, the buyer will send you the payment to the address shown here, payable to the name shown here.

To change your personal information, click on "My Personal Info." Then click edit. You may have to re-log in. Enter your new information then click edit.

2. Change your password
To change your password, click on "Change Password" on MyAccount

3. Keep track of your listed items
You can keep track of your listed ad for your item on MyAccount, under "running ad" and "finished ad."
Under "running ad," you can keep track of when you listed what, and when the ad will expire. When your ad expiration is getting close, you may choose to extend listing length by clicking renew. Your ad will have another 30-day life from the date you renew. As a Merchant member, you can also edit your ad by clicking "edit" right next to the ad.
Under "finished ad," you can re-list what is already expired or sold.

4. View your purchase / payment history:
You can see your purchase history and payment history from MyAccount.
5. Edit your Ad.
As a Merchant member, you have the advantage of editing your ad. Simply click on "running ad" on MyAccount, then click "edit" that is showing next to the title of the ad. You will be directed back to "Sell" page but all your information will already be there. After you are done, click "list my item."
6. View One-Magic-A-Day
One free magic will randomly be chosen from the database each time you click it. If you would like to share a trick, please click here. You can get some surprise incentives for helping us build our database!!!
7. Enter Secret Library
Secret Library is where you can look up magic terms, learn the history of magic, and read articles about magic. This library has broad range of magic-related information.
Please send us some articles about anything related to magic, but not necessarily have to be "magic tricks". (ie. it can be about religion, tarot reading, business mind for magicians, etc...

1. Find a Member
By entering the user ID in the search box, you can find out the information about the member you are looking for. If you need to contact the member, you can use the form provided. (For security purpose, members' email will not be disclosed) You can also see what products the member is selling as well.

II. Membership Types and Fees

As you see in the chart below, there are two types of membership; Market Member and Merchant Member. Each of has different benefits. You may choose to upgrade your membership at any time.

***You can upgrade to Merchant Member only after you become Market member at this moment. You may downgrade your membership at any time but your payment is final. Please click here to downgrade your membership.

II-i. Market Member

It is a great starter because it is FREE to become and to keep your membership. Once you become a Market Member, you can keep your membership until you cancel it. As a Market Member, you will be able to buy and sell items without monthly membership fees. We charge listing fee (see listing fee chart) but we do NOT charge commission fees!!!

II-ii. Merchant Member

Merchant Membership is for those who are serious about selling. If you have a lot to sell, this membership best suits your need!!! Once you pay the membership fee, you can list as many product as you want for FREE while you are a merchant member.

The monthly subscription fee is $9.99 but you can save up to 20% with semi-annual or annual subscription.

III. Payments / Shipping

III-i. Payments that we accept

We accept Paypal, and credit cards.
It may take up to 24 hours for us to confirm your payment.

> To make transaction faster:
1. upgrade to Merchant member ($9.99/mo)
2. your ad listing will get on the web immediately after you submit
*it may take up to 24 hours to upgrade your membership

III-ii. Payments that you can accept

You may choose to accept PayPal, personal checks and/or money order. If you are using PayPal, you can accept major credit cards as well.

Accepting PayPal
We recommend PayPal because it is safer and faster. Also, you can accept major credit cards so it is convenient too. Please be sure to check your email address provided in the Sell page for faster payment process.

Accepting Personal Check / Money Order
Accepting personal checks and money orders may increase your sales. However, there is a possibility of bad check or fake money orders. Please be sure that you can deposit them before you confirm the buyer's payment.
*For security purpose, both personal checks and money orders will be written payable to the name you registered with us. They will be sent to the address you registered with us as well.

III-iii. Shipping method you may offer

You may offer any shipping methods. However, in the sell page, when you list your item, please set the basic shipping rate. This cost will be the flat shipping rate that buyers will pay you if you do not specify anything in your Seller's Policy. If you would like to add different options of shipping method, or add special rate for shipping to certain regions, please write them in your Seller's Policy so that buyers can add the correct amount in the payment confirmation page.

III-iv. Shipping calculation

In the sell page, when you list your item, please set the basic shipping rate. This cost will be the flat shipping rate that buyers will pay you if you do not specify anything in your Seller's Policy. If you would like to add different options of shipping method, or add special rate for shipping to certain regions, please write them in your Seller's Policy so that buyers can add the correct amount in the order confirmation page.
When buyer clicks "Buy," the buyer will be directed to order confirmation page. There, buyers will be able to change the shipping rate if they need to, according to your instruction.
